Routing in Windows
Browsing Network Neighborhood
Workgroups and Windows NT Domains have limitations. Systems on different
networks will not communicate using NetBIOS names and the Universal Naming Convention
(UNC). To access a system via a router, you need to use a WINS Server or a DNS Server.
WINS Server is much simpler to configure than a DNS Server, so it is ideal for a small
network. For more information on WINS Server, consult your Windows NT help documentation.
